Combining Two Powerhouses

In reality, McGraw and Hill were in competition; both superstars in their own right and one might think they’d let their career success get in the way of a budding romance. Instead, the two combined their gifts, married in 1996 and supported each other throughout their careers.

Between concerts, awards and hit songs, the pair welcomed three daughters: Grace, Maggie and Aubrey, now in their early 20’s. The two oldest daughters are now in college and pursuing a music career as well.

Fan Favorites

In 2006 and 2007, the couple co-headlined the Soul2Soul II Tour, grossing more than $140 million, the highest grossing country tour of all time until Taylor Swift broke the record in 2014, and remains in the top 20 highest-grossing tours in history. The pair went on a sequel Soul2Soul Tour in 2017 and 2018 will similar success.

Living The Dream

They primarily lived on a 750 – acre property in Tennessee (they’ve since sold some of those acres) bought in 2001 from country music legend Hank Williams. The property contained four residences when they moved in with additional smaller buildings and apartments scattered throughout. After renovations and living more than a decade in a home on the National Register of Historic Places, they put the Nashville estate up for sale in 2013 for $20 million according to NinjaJournalist.

They own at least two more properties in Nashville, a home in Los Angeles and until recently, a 20-acre private island called L’ile d’Agnes. The private island was another major renovation project, but what started out as a beautiful island with one small shack, now boasts an open-air, eight-pavilion home. In 2021, the couple put their Bahamas mansion up for sale for $35 million.

A Man (And A Woman) Of Many Talents

In 2009, McGraw began trying his hand at acting, landing a supporting role in The Blind Side alongside Sandra Bullock. He’s also made appearances in The Kingdom, Four Christmases, Tomorrowland and Friday Night Lights to name a few.

While Hill hasn’t branched into films just yet, (she did appear in the 2004 remake of The Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler and Glenn Close) she has chosen to set her sights on other business. Hill released two fragrances, Faith Hill Parfums and True. She was a coach on The Voice in 2016 and judge on 2019’s The World Best.

Joining Forces For Another Successful Round

Fans of Paramount +’s hit Yellowstone series already know that the prequel to the network’s popular show is 1883, following the Dutton family as they flee poverty and travel west through the Great Plains to Montana. According to Today, the series stars McGraw and Hill as the main couple as well as Billy Bob Thornton and Sam Elliott and cameos from another Hollywood power couple, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

A second season of 1883 has not yet been confirmed, but Paramount+ has announced more episodes are on the way. They’ve also shared info on the next chapter, 1932 is in the works. Regardless of what happens in the popular series, McGraw and Hill have gushed over the fun they’ve had throughout the process and the thrill of working together, yet again, on one of their successful projects.
