On January 9th, CBR.com reported that the network announced a "'Sopranos 25th anniversary collection,' which includes never-before-seen deleted footage and expanded access to behind-the-scenes content," including "15 deleted scenes, with three of them never previously released, along with more than five hours of featurettes."

(HBO's official landing page for the show is here.)

Among HBO's plans for the celebration was a new TikTok account (@TheSopranos), to which the network planned to upload short segments (25 seconds, to be exact) from The Sopranos.

Another HBO Banger
The Gilded Age Cast, Ranked By Net Worth
HBO's The Gilded Age is a show about age-old conflicts between "new money" and "old money." Let's look at the cast's net worths off-screen.

The Sopranos broke new ground for television, blurring the lines between drama and comedy while exploring the complex psyche of a mafia boss.

It was almost immediately successful and attracted an audience of twelve million viewers every week, quickly earning its place as one of the most successful shows to ever air on television.

It won numerous awards across its run, including 21 Emmys and five Golden Globes, solidifying its standing in television history.

The show's popularity shot The Sopranos' cast to stardom, transforming several of its stars from relatively unknown actors to household names.

11 Tony Sirico (Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri)

Tony Sirico's Net Worth (Estimated At The Time Of His Death): $10 Million

Brooklyn native Tony Sirico was a well-versed actor by the time he donned the iconic tracksuit of Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri for The Sopranos.

Sirico had been actively pursuing his craft since the late 1970s, accumulating an impressive 78 acting credits, starting as an extra in The Godfather II.

Before venturing into Hollywood, Sirico was an actual gangster.

He was reportedly arrested nearly 30 times in the 1960s and 1970s, as a reputed associate of the Colombo crime syndicate ... what better way to audition for his roles in Godfather II, Goodfellas, and The Sopranos?

His diverse repertoire spanned film and television, including appearances in beloved shows like American Dad, Family Guy, and Medium, as well as acclaimed films like Café Society and Everybody Says I Love You.

His established career contributed significantly to Sirico's net worth, estimated at approximately $10 million before his death in July 2022.

10 Robert Iler (Anthony "A.J." Soprano, Jr.)

Robert Iler's Net Worth (Estimated): $10 Million

Though Robert Iler may only boast nine acting credits to his name, his stint as the infamously troubled Anthony Jr. (A.J.) Soprano on The Sopranos gave his net worth a turbocharged lift.

Iler's journey began at a young age, landing commercials for brands like Pizza Hut at six years old.

His film debut came at 14 with The Tic Code, paving the way for his breakout role in The Sopranos that same year.

While his portrayal earned him recognition, Iler faced legal troubles in 2001, involving charges of robbery and drug possession – though he remained on the show.

In a July 2001 statement, a then 16-year-old Iler addressed the incident and arrest, saying:

I feel terribly embarrassed. I never, ever would or did rob anybody in my life.

I know that the events of the past two days have been extremely difficult for my family and friends, and for that I am deeply sorry.

Since The Sopranos concluded, his acting appearances have been sparse, with only two additional credits to his name, including a role in Four Kings and Daredevil.

Iler also pursued a career as a professional poker player and started a podcast with The Sopranos co-star Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

Despite his limited filmography, Robert Iler's net worth sits at a comfortable $10 million.

9 Dominic Chianese (Corrado "Junior" Soprano)

Dominic Chianese's Net Worth (Estimated): $10 Million

Dominic Chianese brought gravitas and sharp wit to the role of Corrado "Junior" Soprano, Tony's cunning uncle (and occasional rival for control of North Jersey).

As "Uncle Jun," Chianese delivered many of the show's funniest moments – including a short, notable scene and reference to HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which the addled elder Soprano mistakes Larry David for himself:

A veteran actor with a long career spanning over five decades in theater and film, Chianese began his artistic journey in the theater, honing his craft on Broadway as early as 1964.

Chianese's breakout film role came in 1972 with Francis Ford Coppola's genre-making classic The Godfather (as if Chianese needed further validation for his role in The Sopranos).

He continued to professionally flourish after The Sopranos, securing recurring roles in critically acclaimed series like Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife.

Today, Dominic Chianese's net worth is estimated at around $15 million, the result of his esteemed career and decades of dedication.

Drea de Matteo's Net Worth (Estimated): $10 Million

Drea de Matteo's breakout role came via The Sopranos as main character Adriana La Cerva.

Her masterful portrayal of Adriana earned her praise from critics, and an Emmy Award in 2004.

Though Drea de Matteo initially harbored ambitions of directing, her undeniable talent steered her towards a successful acting career.

Following her stint on The Sopranos, de Matteo transitioned to other notable series, portraying Wendy Case in Sons Of Anarchy; she also graced the screen alongside Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta in NBC's Shades Of Blue.

Beyond her acting career, the star also co-founded a clothing store called Filth Mart.

As such, it comes as no surprise that Drea de Matteo's net worth is estimated to be around $10 million.

7 Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Meadow Soprano)

Jamie-Lynn Sigler's Net Worth (Estimated): $12 Million

Jamie-Lynn Sigler's passion for performing blossomed at a young age, leading her to pursue acting in New York City's regional theater scene.

Her on-screen debut arrived in 1998 with A Brooklyn State Of Mind, but it was her flawless portrayal of Meadow Soprano on The Sopranos that propelled her to widespread fame.

While she may not be as active on screen as she was during The Sopranos, Jamie-Lynn Sigler's career path remains impressive.

In recent years, Sigler has reemerged with renewed energy, co-hosting the engaging podcast Pajama Pants alongside her on-screen brother Robert Iler and joining the cast of the popular series Big Sky.

In February 2022, Sigler and Iler reprised their The Sopranos characters for an unexpectedly emotional Super Bowl commercial, directed by Sopranos creator David Chase.

After it aired, Variety covered the nostalgic advertisement, reporting:

The ad updated, shot for shot, the show’s opening montage, which used to feature James Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano driving a Chevy truck.

On Sunday night [February 13th, 2022], it was Meadow Soprano doing the driving — in an electric Chevrolet Silverado, billed as a vehicle for “a new generation.”

In the spot, The Sopranos' theme song plays, and Sigler (as an older Meadow Soprano) takes Tony's "opening credits" journey from New York to North Jersey:

Sigler earned $10,000 per episode for the first season of The Sopranos. She also branched out into music, releasing a pop album in 2001.

The star renegotiated her salary for the final two seasons to $150,000 per episode, which worked out to over $3 million for the last 21 episodes in which she appeared.

Bracco flourished throughout the 1990s, appearing in notable films like Radio Flyer, Hackers, and The Basketball Diaries, showcasing her diverse acting ability.

Her successful trajectory led her to The Sopranos, where she delivered a nuanced and refreshing portrayal of Tony Soprano's therapist, Jennifer Melfi.

Beyond acting, Bracco also ventured into television production and enjoyed continued success, with a starring role on the popular series Rizzoli & Isles from 2010 to 2016.

At the beginning of Imperioli's career, he portrayed Spider in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas; The Sopranos infamously paid homage to the scene early in the show's run.

The Sopranos marked a pivotal point in his career, bringing him widespread recognition for his portrayal of the conflicted Christopher Moltisanti, cousin of Tony's wife Carmela Soprano.

The role also earned him an Emmy for "Outstanding Supporting Actor" in 2004.

Edie Falco's Net Worth (Estimated): $50 Million

Edie Falco's journey in Hollywood began in the 1980s, when she began steadily building a thriving career on stage and screen.

Her breakthrough arrived in part with a recurring role in the acclaimed HBO prison dramaOz, which highlighted her talent, and likely landed her in the right place at the right time.

Falco followed Oz with her artful portrayal of Carmela Soprano in The Sopranos, a role that catapulted her to international recognition.

Falco's refined performance and ability to capture the complexities of Carmela earned her three Emmys.

Falco went on to star in another cable series, Nurse Jackie, which ended in 2015, and she most recently appeared in the television mini-series Horace And Pete.

Falco was among the highest paid actors on the set of The Sopranos.

She earned $500,000 per episode for the sixth and final season of the show.

In large part due to her leading roles in some of television's most influential series (and her expansive real estate portfolio), Edie Falco's net worth is estimated at around $50 million.

2 James Gandolfini (Anthony "Tony" Soprano)

James Gandolfini's Net Worth (Estimated At The Time Of His Death): $70 Million

A beloved Hollywood figure, James Gandolfini was immortalized in the industry even before his sudden, untimely passing in 2013.

His memorable performance as Tony Soprano, the complex and enigmatic boss of the DiMeo crime family, set a gold standard as one of the greatest television performances of all time.

Before landing his defining role as Tony, Gandolfini had already established himself in Hollywood with stellar performances in films like True Romance, Crimson Tide, and Get Shorty.

However, The Sopranos placed him in the limelight, earning him three Emmy Awards and cultural icon status.

Gandolfini was notoriously uncomfortable with his abrupt rise to super-stardom, as ScreenRant explained in a retrospective 2022 analysis of the actor and The Sopranos:

It was well-documented by The Sopranos crew that Gandolfini wasn’t always the most easygoing guy on set ... At the same time, Chase noted that the last seasons of The Sopranos were tough on Gandolfini, particularly due to the cruelty and brutality of his character.

This made it hard for Gandolfini to still be excited about playing Tony, so his antagonism was a product of him really being done with the show.

Chase recalled on The Originals podcast that Gandolfini had blamed his hostility on the character, saying, “Playing Tony Soprano is what makes me an [expletive]."

By the accounts of those who personally knew him and worked closely with him, Gandolfini was a nice and great guy; the role just got to him.

The Emmy Award winner consistently earned hefty paychecks from The Sopranos, and his salary for the first two seasons was approximated at $5 million combined.

By the third season, Gandolfini's salary doubled to $5 million per season. Before the sixth season aired, he negotiated another bump in pay.

Gandolfini earned $1 million per episode for the 21 episode, two-part season six, making him one of the highest-paid television actors.

At the time of his death, James Gandolfini's net worth stood at an estimated $70 million.

1 Steven Van Zandt (Silvio Dante)

Steven Van Zandt's Net Worth: $80 Million

Steven Van Zandt has lifted every stone in his long-spanning career.

The multi-talented entertainer established himself as a successful musician, songwriter, record producer, actor, and radio DJ, and Van Zandt's diverse and rewarding career speaks for him.

Steven Van Zandt's net worth is estimated in the staggering vicinity of $80 million, making him the wealthiest actor on the set of The Sopranos.

While his portrayal of the loyal and levelheaded consigliere Silvio Dante on The Sopranos undoubtedly and significantly contributed to his wealth, it is only one piece of the puzzle.

His endeavors on the business side of show business have certainly helped him stack his bank account, too.

Additional business interests – including his own record label – earned Van Zandt significant fame and wealth through myriad facets of entertainment.
